bland mountain

ace mars lest july

bland mountain

midnight mumbles

please don’t take offence
to the words i whisper
in your ear
late at night
while you slumber

they roll off my tongue
ending up
in your dreams
rocking you gently
from the deep

so that my voice
rings true there
before being lost
to the fog
of your awakening
